Requirements
We are looking for a dedicated, flexible, and energetic speech language pathology assistant to complete a variety of tasks such as activities designed to develop pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of assistive technology devices for communication; works with students who have identified speech and language disorders as well as other disabilities; performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
*Must have a current certification/registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) issued by the North Carolina Speech-Language Pathology Board*
Must be a graduate from an accredited Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, SLP-A program, and/or hold a certificate from a speech language pathology assistant program
Associate Degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders or completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in speech-language pathology or communication disorders
Evidence of successful completion of the required Speech-Language Assisting curriculum courses or course equivalents developed and approved by the N.C. Board of Examiners
Assist speech-language and hearing screenings (without interpretation)
Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising speech–language pathologist
Document patient/client performance and report this information to the supervision speech– language pathologist
Assist with internal documentation as directed by the speech-language pathologist
Assist with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling activities as directed by the speech–language pathologist
Support the supervising speech-language pathologist in research projects, in-service training, and public relations programs
Collect data for monitoring quality improvement
Great organizational and time management skills
